Welcome!  Welcome to the Shelmar Publications web site! Our goal is to provide books to inform, inspire, and encourage our readers. Shelmar Publications was formed when long-time friends Shelly Burke and Martha Whited, both nurses, worked together to write the book How to Find Your Perfect Job in Nursing. The company name “Shelmar” is a combination of both author’s names.  Shelly went on to write Home is Where the Mom Is; A ChristianMom’s Guide to Caring for Herself, Her Family, and Her Home, and will publish her third book, What Should I Say? Finding the Right Words for Life’s Stickiest, Trickiest, and Most Uncomfortable Situations, in the summer of this year. Shelmar Publications published Chaplain’s Corner; A Collection of Columns Written for The Nebraska Legionnaire 1986-1988 and 1990-2001, by the Reverend Dr. Paul Rowoldt, in 2006. Shelly gets ideas for her books from talking with and listening to her friends and family. Her goal is to provide “real life” information that will inspire readers to help themselves and others, and make their lives easier and more fun.
